Welcome to the Fire Marshal's Office for King County Fire District #2, servicing the White Center and North Highline communities, and the cities of Burien and Normandy Park.
Our staff works with citizens, businesses and property developers to ensure the Fire Code is met and safety is a priority. Included in the scope of work handled by the FMO are fire and life safety inspections of our businesses and apartments, youth fire intervention specialists, and origin/cause investigations of fire with the help of the King County Fire Investigation Unit. King County Fire District #2 currently employs one Marshal and three Inspectors. Information on our most commonly requested documents can be found under the Fire Marshal tab at the top. The inspectors' coverage areas are shown below their phone numbers Fire Marshal services for the unincorporated areas of North Highline are provided by King County's Fire Marshal office. Fire Marshal
Ray Desmarais (206) 209-4119 Assistant Chief / Fire Marshal Ray Desmarais joined KCFD #2 in 2005 as a volunteer and was hired full-time in 2008. He became a Captain in 2017 and currently serves as the Fire Marshal in charge of Burien and Normandy Park, while also assisting King County in the unincorporated area of White Center.
