Liz Giba was elected on November 8, 2011 to complete the unexpired term of Position No. 1. (Photo to follow) The election also extablishes her as fire commisssioner for the next six (6) years.

Wayne Alishokis was appointed to fill the remaining term for Position No. 2 in March 2006. He ran for the office and was elected in the November 2007 general election. He has been affiliated with KCFD #11/NHFD since 1961.

Ray Austin

Ray Austin was elected to Position No. 3 on the November 2009 ballot. Ray has been a professional firefighter in a neighoring city for nearly 10 years, working on the front lines delivering EMS services and fire protection. Ray has a strong background on Labor/Management relations that will serve him well as a member of the Fire Commission.
 

 

NOVEMBER 2011 ELECTION

The citizens of North Highline Fire District elected Liz Giba as Fire Commissioner (Position #1) at the November 8, 2011 general election.

Liz-OathThe department's attorney, Brian Snure, administered the Oath of Office to Liz Giba on December 6, 2011. She took office immediately to fulfill the unexpired term as well as the regular six-year board term.

Liz is a White Center resident and active member of North Highline. Her community participation includes work with the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council, White Center Arts, the White Center Jubilee Days and Save Our Libraries committees. She has also been very involved in discussions about the future governance of the North Highline community. Liz is pleased to have this opportunity to continue her community advocacy as our newest fire commissioner.
